Our Story

The history of Linde Corporation is the classic American success story. Our President and founder Scott Linde started in 1965 with his brother and a couple of pieces of equipment. The brothers eventually separated to form their own successful firms, with Scott always keeping the Linde name in his company title. Today his Linde Corporation has hundreds of employees, hundreds of machines and thousands of completed projects under our belt.

What has not changed is the Linde commitment to excellence. We treat every construction challenge, large or small, as if it were our only job. In the truest sense each job is our only job. Each job defines us as a company. A job done well serves notice that the companies, communities and utilities who hired us made the right choice. A job done well is our best recommendation to potential clients. Linde does it right—every time.

Every construction company experiences evolution and transformation and Linde Corporation is no exception. In the 60’s we started with small sewer jobs. In the 70’s we helped rebuild Pennsylvania’s Wyoming Valley after the devastating Hurricane Agnes flooding. By the 80’s Linde was installing water lines, sewer lines and storm drains as part of the expanded Clean Water Act. In the 90’s we did site work for the “Big Box” distribution centers in Eastern Pennsylvania. This was the period when Linde Corporation fully emerged as Scott’s company, independent from other family members and previous names. Then Marcellus shale changed the region and profoundly changed Linde Corporation.

It was the mid-2000’s when Linde became involved with the Marcellus shale “play” in Northeastern Pennsylvania. We have since laid dozens of miles of gathering lines, connecting natural gas well heads with the larger distribution lines. We have built the well pads companies use for drilling; we’ve installed compressor stations to move the gas and we have restored drill sites to pristine condition after the gas and equipment have gone. In addition, Linde has opened transload facilities at defunct train yards in Carbondale and Sayre, PA as a destination for out of state companies looking to ship materials to the gas fields. As a result, Linde has doubled its work force in the last two years and continues to grow.

Linde International (LII) gives us an international footprint. LII partnered with Turkish construction giant Summa to complete the first private hospital in Moldova (2010) and the African Union Summit Convention Center in Equatorial Guinea (2011).

We have recently consolidated our far-flung operations; Linde’s corporate, financial and maintenance facilities are now in one beautiful new complex in Pittston, PA.

As we continue to evolve and grow, our core values remain unchanged. Linde Corporation is only as good as our people. It is why we try to promote from within. In addition, we offer health insurance for workers and their families as well as a 401k to which we contribute. Decades of experience, good planning and good practices combined with great people. It’s the way Linde Corporation does business.
